I own a 1992 Convertible with a 6 speed. Started life canary yellow, it is
now triple BLACK. It had been in an accident, and needed repainting and
repair. I changed the following:
- Replaced Front & Rear bumbers with fiberglass replacements. No more
ripples.
On Front Bumber, I had the CORVETTE logo filled in, now the entire front
bumber is smooth.
On the Rear Bumber, I had the CORVETTE logo filled in, as well as the middle
stop light (the bulb was left in place to avoid a warning light on the dash).
Now the rear end was smooth.
- Replaced the side vents with 1995 style vents.
- Removed hood emblem. (Hood looks bigger, takes some getting used to)
- Removed fuel filler emblem, and had the door made one solid piece and
smooth. A small thumb slot was left to open door.
- Installed 315/35/17 tires on the original wheels.
- Replaced the top with a cloth top (black).
- Replaced the original leather with a better leather - black
- Had the whole car painted jet black.
Total cost: 3 times what I expected, but it looks and feels brand new.
